Café-Style Lighting, Professionally Installed
Bistro lighting — also called string lighting or café lighting — is the warm canopy of hanging bulbs you see over restaurant patios and courtyards. Strung correctly, it turns an ordinary Houston backyard into the space everyone wants to sit in after dark.
The difference between a professional install and a DIY attempt shows immediately. Store-bought strands sag unevenly, run to visible extension cords, and fail after a season in Houston's humidity. We install commercial-grade strands on tensioned aircraft cable, anchored to proper mounting points, with wiring concealed and dimmer or timer control built in.
Where We Install String Lights
Over pools and spas, across covered patios and outdoor kitchens, along pergolas and arbors, above decks and fire pit seating, across open backyards using custom-set posts, and for commercial patios, restaurants, and event spaces throughout the Houston area.
Built for Houston Weather
Gulf Coast heat, humidity, and sudden storms destroy consumer-grade string lights. We use weather-rated commercial sockets and shatter-resistant LED bulbs, stainless hardware, and properly tensioned suspension cable that will not sag or snap in high wind — the same materials used on restaurant patios that run every night of the year.

String Light Installation FAQs
How much does string light installation cost in Houston?
String light installation starts at $800. The final price depends on the size of the area, the number of strand runs, and whether custom posts are needed for spans with no anchor points.
We provide exact pricing after a free on-site consultation, with no obligation.
Do you supply the string lights, or do I buy them?
We supply everything. We use commercial-grade strands, sockets, and shatter-resistant LED bulbs that hold up far better than retail sets sold for seasonal use.
If you have already purchased lights, we can discuss installing them, though we cannot warranty consumer-grade materials.
What if my backyard has nothing to hang lights from?
That is very common in newer Houston neighborhoods with young trees. We install custom posts, set in concrete and finished to match your space, creating permanent anchor points for the strands.
Posts can be powder-coated black, wrapped in cedar, or painted to blend with your home.
Will the lights survive Houston storms and humidity?
Yes. Everything we install is weather-rated for outdoor use, mounted with stainless hardware, and suspended on tensioned cable that carries the load rather than the wire itself.
This is the key structural difference from a DIY install, where the electrical cord bears the tension and eventually fails.
How long does an installation take?
Most residential string light installs are completed in a single day. Larger projects, or ones requiring concrete-set posts to cure, may run into a second visit.
We confirm the schedule with you before we begin.
Can the lights be dimmed or put on a timer?
Yes, and we recommend it. We can wire your string lighting to a dimmer for adjustable brightness and a photocell or timer so the lights turn on at dusk and off on a schedule automatically.
Is string lighting safe to hang over a pool?
When installed correctly, yes. We use shatter-resistant LED bulbs, maintain proper clearance heights above the water, and route all wiring and connections well away from the pool edge in line with electrical code.
Poolside installs are some of our most requested work because of how the light reflects off the water.
How much do string lights add to my electric bill?
Very little. LED bulbs draw a small fraction of the power older incandescent café bulbs use, so even a large canopy running several hours a night has a minimal impact on your bill.
Do you install string lighting for restaurants and businesses?
Yes. We install commercial bistro lighting for restaurant patios, bars, event venues, retail centers, and HOA common areas across the Houston area.
Commercial installs are scheduled around your business hours to avoid disrupting service.
What happens if a bulb burns out later?
Individual bulbs are replaceable, so a single failure never means replacing an entire strand. Give us a call and we will come out to service the system.
We also offer maintenance visits that cover bulb replacement, tension checks, and cleaning.
