Outdoor Lighting Pricing

Nobody publishes lighting prices, which makes it impossible to plan. Here are the ranges we actually quote in Houston, and what moves a job up or down within them.

Repairs and restorations are quoted separately and are usually a fraction of a new install — see repair and restoration. Holiday lighting and permanent roofline lighting are priced by linear footage of roofline; send us your address and we can measure it from satellite before we visit.

Variables

What moves the price

Fixture count

The single biggest factor. More trees and more frontage means more fixtures, and we count them with you on the design visit.

Cable runs

Distance from the transformer drives wire gauge. Long runs on large lots cost more in cable and labour than the fixtures do.

Access and ground

Established beds and mature root zones take longer to trench cleanly than open turf. Hardscape crossings add time.

Tree mounting

Canopy downlighting means climbing, arborist-friendly hardware and cable management up the trunk. It costs more and it is worth it.

Transformer sizing

We specify headroom for later phases. A slightly larger box now is much cheaper than a second one in three years.

Controls

Timer and photocell are standard. App control, zoning and colour-changing systems add cost.

What is always included

Every quote includes the free night-time design visit, solid cast brass fixtures with a lifetime manufacturer warranty, 2700K LED lamps rated to 50,000 hours, a stainless transformer, buried and sealed cable, full clean-up, and a return visit after dark to aim every beam once the system is live.

What is never included is a change order. The written quote is the price. If we find something unexpected we tell you before we do the work, not after.

Answers

Pricing questions

Is the design visit really free?

Yes. We come out after dark with fixtures, light the property in front of you and leave a written quote. No charge and no obligation.

Do you require a deposit?

A deposit is taken to schedule and order fixtures, with the balance on completion once you have signed off the night aim visit.

Can I phase the work?

Yes, and many clients do. We design the whole scheme, then size the transformer and trunk runs so later phases plug in without re-trenching.

Do you price-match?

We do not, but we will happily walk you through a competing quote and show you where the fixture specification and cable sizing differ. That is usually where the price gap is.
