Landscape lighting in Richmond
The historic side near the Brazos and the old county seat is a different job entirely. Older homes with real architectural character, mature pecans and oaks, and a look that punishes anything too bright or too blue. Those properties want warm, restrained, and mostly hidden.
Larger lots also mean longer cable runs, and that is where most Richmond systems we inherit have gone wrong. Voltage drop over a 200-foot run is not a theoretical problem — it is why the fixtures at the far end of your drive are yellow and dim.

What we light in Richmond
Long driveways and approaches
Mixed uplighting and low path fixtures down a drive reads far better than a line of identical posts.
Mature pecans and oaks
The historic neighbourhoods have canopy that rewards downlighting from height rather than another ring of uplights at the base.
Correctly sized runs
Bigger lots mean longer cable. We calculate the load and size the wire so the far end still gets full voltage.

What Houston-area homeowners say
Elwin was very professional. I watched him the whole time he was restoring my landscape lighting. He replaced bulbs for better lighting, installed new wiring, and did a great job of hiding wires. He arranged for my unit to run off of one box instead of three. My landscape lighting means the world to me.Luong Tieu Hung
We are so excited about our new outdoor dramatic lighting. Elwin was amazing to work with, always on time and communicated throughout. He also rewired and reworked some of our existing lighting and replaced bulbs. Can’t say enough about his workmanship and his professional approach.Connie Loftus
Ambiance Outdoor Lighting did a great job with my outdoor lighting project. They were very easy to work with and communicated with me throughout the project. They did a quality job at the best price that I found.Justin Chowattukunnel

Answers
Richmond lighting questions
My lot is large — will the far fixtures be dimmer?
Not if the system is designed properly. Voltage drop is real over long runs, and it is the most common fault we find on acreage properties. We calculate load per run and step up the wire gauge so every fixture sits inside its working voltage, however far from the transformer it is.
How much does landscape lighting cost?
Most residential systems land between roughly $3,500 and $12,000 depending on fixture count, wire runs and transformer size. Every quote is fixed and written before work begins — see our pricing guide.
Is there a charge for the design visit?
No. We come out after dark with fixtures, light the property in front of you and leave you with a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation.
Do you charge extra to travel to Richmond?
No. Richmond is inside our normal service area and there is no travel surcharge.
