Landscape lighting in The Woodlands
Dense high canopy means moonlighting is the primary technique, not a flourish. Fixtures go up into the pines and aim down, throwing branch shadow across lawns and drives with no visible source at eye level. Uplighting a sixty-foot loblolly from the base mostly lights bare trunk — it is the most common mistake we are called out to correct here.
The Woodlands also has a Development Standards Committee with a view on exterior changes. Buried cable, hidden transformers and shielded fixtures are how we work anyway, which makes approval straightforward.

What we light in The Woodlands
Moonlighting through pine
Canopy-mounted fixtures aimed down. The signature effect in The Woodlands and the one most installers skip.
Covenant-friendly installs
Nothing visible by day, no surface cable, transformers out of sight. Fixture schedules provided for DSC submission.
Preserved hardwoods
Mature oaks among the pine want a different treatment again — uplighting into the crown rather than straight down.

What Houston-area homeowners say
Elwin was very professional. I watched him the whole time he was restoring my landscape lighting. He replaced bulbs for better lighting, installed new wiring, and did a great job of hiding wires. He arranged for my unit to run off of one box instead of three. My landscape lighting means the world to me.Luong Tieu Hung
We are so excited about our new outdoor dramatic lighting. Elwin was amazing to work with, always on time and communicated throughout. He also rewired and reworked some of our existing lighting and replaced bulbs. Can’t say enough about his workmanship and his professional approach.Connie Loftus
Ambiance Outdoor Lighting did a great job with my outdoor lighting project. They were very easy to work with and communicated with me throughout the project. They did a quality job at the best price that I found.Justin Chowattukunnel

Answers
The Woodlands lighting questions
Will lighting need Development Standards Committee approval?
Exterior changes in The Woodlands generally do. Our installs are buried, shielded and invisible by day, which is what the standards are protecting, and we will supply a fixture schedule and placement plan for your submission.
How much does landscape lighting cost?
Most residential systems land between roughly $3,500 and $12,000 depending on fixture count, wire runs and transformer size. Every quote is fixed and written before work begins — see our pricing guide.
Is there a charge for the design visit?
No. We come out after dark with fixtures, light the property in front of you and leave you with a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation.
Do you charge extra to travel to The Woodlands?
No. The Woodlands is inside our normal service area and there is no travel surcharge.
